The 33rd Annual Northern California Area EMMY Awards were presented Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. The EMMY honors excellence in all fields of television production. There were 56 EMMY awards in 52 categories. May 24, 2004 San Francisco, CA – KTLN, TV68 and Cable 25, part of the Total Living Network was the recipient of an EMMY award in the category of News and Programs Area, the Children/Youth Segment for the show “Every 15 Minutes.” Mike Bruining, Producer and Editor; Debra Fraser, Host of “Every 15 Minutes” and General Manager of KTLN were awarded the statuettes Saturday night at the Palace of Fine Arts. “San Francisco is a tough market to win an Emmy. It is an excellent production market and their standards are high. It is even more difficult if you are a specialty station like ours with limited production staff, and limited production equipment. This Emmy is especially meaningful to us as it was also our very first nomination for KTLN” says Jerry K. Rose, President of Total Living Network. The “Every 15 Minutes” Program offered viewers the chance to see how this community event dramatically instills in teenagers the potentially dangerous consequences of driving while under the influence of alcohol. Every 15 minutes, someone in the United States dies from an alcohol related traffic incident. The award winning segment, which aired within KTLN’s “People Like You” show, challenged every viewer to think about the safety of others, and the responsibility of making mature decisions. KTLN delivers programming via TV68, Cable 25, Digital 47, Satellite and via the Internet. For more information, please visit www.ktln.com .
